SRAM Maven Base Front Disc Brake
Couldn't load pickup availability
The SRAM Maven Base disc brake, front or rear, is designed for mountain bikers riding technical trails who want powerful, consistent braking. The rigid 4-bolt calliper houses four 18 mm pistons and, according to the supplier, manages heat well, keeping braking consistent even through the final corner of the descent.
The lever incorporates the Directlink system, which smoothly transmits the rider's input. Organic brake pads are fitted as standard and lever reach can be adjusted without tools. The system uses mineral oil and must only be filled with Maxima Mineral Brake Oil. It is black, with a 950 mm hose on the front version and a 2000 mm hose on the rear version.

Founded in Chicago in 1987 by Stan Day and a group of cycling enthusiasts, SRAM is still based in the US city today. It makes drivetrains and brakes for road, gravel and mountain bikes. Its story began with a single product: Grip Shift, the shifter that lets riders change gear by twisting the grip.
