The new SC45 develops the concepts of previous versions and features the latest version of VISION rims, also used in the METRON range, but with more traditional and less extreme construction methods. In particular, the aerodynamic carbon rim, available with a depth of 45, has a hooked internal width of 21mm for maximum efficiency with tubeless tyres ranging from 28 to 32mm [insert tyre compatibility chart]. The 24 aerodynamic spokes with 2:1 lacing are fitted to direct-pull hubs. At the rear, the freehub body uses the traditional ratchet design in an improved version, without bearing preload adjustment but with press-fit end caps, making the wheels more reliable and easier to maintain. Our technicians have carried out extensive road and laboratory testing to refine the construction of the entire system, resulting in significantly greater stability and performance, both in rolling efficiency and longevity. This type of wheel is often used with little thought given to maintenance, so we have studied performance deterioration through use, improving every component and interface between parts. Weight has also been reduced compared with previous versions, mainly thanks to modern carbon construction, reaching 1,590 g/pair for the SC45.
