The updated GRIP2 damper sets the benchmark for unrivalled ride quality and ultra-precise on-the-fly adjustment. For 2021, FOX took GRIP2 to the next level by adding patented VVC technology to the high-speed compression circuit. VVC is a proprietary variable valve control system that allows external fine-tuning of suspension performance. With a simple turn of a dial, GRIP2 achieves what would normally require the lengthy and complicated task of completely dismantling and reassembling the fork. It allows adjustment of high- and low-speed compression and rebound damping.

The lightweight FLOAT air suspension system automatically balances the positive and negative air chambers for greater sensitivity and traction regardless of the air pressure setting. Riders can fine-tune the positive air spring characteristics using volume spacers. Using a shorter stanchion tube saves weight and creates a lightweight overall system.

Floating axles may look similar to axles, but they actually offer a clear performance advantage. Floating axles provide much smoother suspension movement throughout the fork's travel, significantly improving sensitivity and overall ride quality. They also create perfect suspension alignment and eliminate unwanted friction between the fork's upper and lower legs.

When a fork compresses, the air volume in the lower legs decreases. The further the fork compresses, the higher the pressure rises. This can have the unintended effect of preventing full travel from being reached. Channels in the lower legs help reduce this additional pressure build-up. Bleeders also allow easy pressure equalisation at the push of a button.

Stiffness relative to weight is the ultimate metric for bicycle design. Engineers invest countless hours in optimising this ratio. The all-new lower-leg design saves every possible gram without compromising the stiffness or strength requirements of modern enduro and gravity riding.

Modern frames and geometry trends call for modern suspension fork design solutions. The triple clamp is designed to fit modern enduro and downhill bikes perfectly. State-of-the-art computing techniques helped FOX develop an organic lower-leg shape that optimises stiffness with the absolute minimum of material. The elliptical steerer tube is another way FOX has further optimised stiffness relative to weight. Material is placed only where it is needed, and every unnecessary gram has been removed.

The powerful motors of modern electric mountain bikes subject both the drivetrain and the entire wheel to higher forces. In addition, E-MTB components have to cope with an inherently heavier bike - this is particularly true of the suspension. For FOX, the unwavering stability of speed pedelec forks was therefore crucial. It ensures safe riding and the best handling of your E-MTB.
