Technology

Orbit

Orbit technology is an innovative new form of rear derailleur movement control. It uses silicone fluid as part of an elegant, ultralight damping system. Compared with a standard friction clutch system, Orbit technology places no additional resistance on the rear derailleur spring during slow or slight movements. This means easier gear changes and rear wheel removal. While riding, the fluid damper reduces chain bounce. It provides dependable reliability for both 1x and 2x systems.

AXS

AXS is the new bicycle component integration system from SRAM that connects the bicycle's electronic components and software. The SRAM AXS app allows riders to view battery status, change component behaviour, personalise controls, receive maintenance reminders and update firmware.

X-SYNC

SRAM X-SYNC 1x chainrings offer the highest level of performance and durability. The tall, square tooth edges of SRAM X-SYNC engage the chain earlier than traditional triangular teeth. The sharp, narrow tooth profile and rounded, chamfered edges help manage a deflected chain. To provide the best possible performance in muddy conditions, X-SYNC chainrings have been designed with mud-clearing recesses for the inner chain links and rollers. Engineered in Germany, X-SYNC chainrings are an integral part of the SRAM 1x drivetrain. Do not accept imitations.

eTap

All the technology behind our new SRAM RED eTap groupset, such as wireless shifting, advanced battery charge management and mechatronic technologies, is designed to serve one ultimate purpose: to deliver the most intuitive and consistent shifting available. This shifting logic is called eTap. The right lever shifts to a harder gear, the left lever shifts to an easier gear, and both levers operate the front derailleur. Simple, unmistakable and intuitive.
