Pirelli Scorpion XC M ProWall SmartGrip Tyre 29x2.20 TLR Classic

The most versatile in the range, Scorpion™ XC covers a very wide range of uses to give you maximum support in racing and training. The tread has a medium profile and spacing for fast, confident riding on a variety of terrains, both firm and soft. Scorpion™ XC M is the best choice for mixed Marathon courses where the terrain changes frequently.

Decades of success in Motocross and Rally world championships have led Pirelli engineers to develop an innovative compound, SmartGRIP Compound, for the Scorpion™ MTB range, combining two opposing characteristics:

• Tear resistance, for maximum mechanical grip in dry conditions alongside maximum puncture resistance.
• Chemical grip on wet surfaces, so you do not have to worry about rain or muddy, slippery sections of the course.

The compound used is the result of an intensive research and development process that has delivered outstanding performance in both dry and wet conditions. Tread patterns optimised for terrain firmness work independently of weather conditions, maximising the effectiveness of the different tread block shapes in the Scorpion™ MTB range for truly uncompromising performance. With the Pirelli Scorpion™ MTB range, you no longer need to change tyres according to the weather; simply focus on the firmness of the terrain you usually ride. The single-compound solution provides consistently high grip in both dry and wet conditions, even as the tread blocks begin to wear.

ProWALL Technology
ProWALL is a sidewall reinforcement technology that improves puncture protection and handling even at low pressures. The additional layer of nylon fabric on the casing sidewalls improves protection against cuts and pinch punctures as well as the stability of the entire structure, allowing better handling and more precise cornering, both essential to improving your off-road riding experience. All this comes without compromising weight or rolling efficiency, making ProWALL a perfect solution for cross-country racing as well as aggressive trail riding and enduro when paired with different casing structures of 120 tpi and 60 tpi respectively.

Founded in Milan in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli, Pirelli remains based in the Lombard city today. For cyclists, it makes tyres for road, gravel, mountain and city bikes, as well as inner tubes. In Bollate, it has renovated a factory dedicated to producing bicycle tyres.
