Building on the carbon lay-up found in the cutting-edge 353 NSW, the 202 NSW features our biomimetic laminate, which uses different types of carbon with varying moduli to maximise stiffness at the spokes and strength at the tyre, mimicking the function of a muscle tendon. The carbon fibres selected for the rim's outer diameter prioritise strength and durability to withstand road impacts, while the inner diameter uses higher-modulus fibres to maintain consistent spoke tension under dynamic riding loads. The result is a rim design that enables a wheelset weighing under 1100 grams, responsive to every input without sacrificing durability or the aerodynamic advantage of its 35 mm profile on descents.
