Pirelli expands its range of premium smartube inner tubes for bike tyres with the Smartube X models, three times as thick as the previous version for maximum strength and puncture resistance, for urban, gravel or e-bike use. Pirelli SmarTUBE X, meanwhile, is the new TPU inner tube model that Pirelli has developed for tyres in the Cinturato families. Three times as thick as the current CinturatoSmarTUBE (which it replaces), the SmarTUBE X offers strength and puncture resistance. It is particularly suited to urban settings or fast commuting. The new SmarTUBE X Cinturato tubes are X for tyres from 28-622 to 40-622 and from 40-622 to 50-622, with Presta or Schrader valves, and are extremely compact: -50% of the space in jersey pockets or a backpack compared with traditional butyl tubes, while retaining the necessary airtightness, just like butyl tubes.
Founded in Milan in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli, Pirelli remains based in the Lombard city today. For cyclists, it makes tyres for road, gravel, mountain and city bikes, as well as inner tubes. In Bollate, it has renovated a factory dedicated to producing bicycle tyres.
